Powering through is no longer an option, it’s time to make change happen

Last year was dubbed the ‘Year of the Girl’ but with marketing’s gender pay gap stuck at the 16% mark and women revealed to be taking on more additional responsibilities than men for no extra pay there is clearly still work to be done.

Last week, Marketing Week published their career and salary survey and reported that the gender pay gap had lessened (small applause) but no where near enough (sigh). It made for sobering reading. Given 2023 was undoubtedly a huge step forward for women in culture (yes, hashtag#taylorswift 🔥), it’s a shame our industry isn’t keeping up.
